Re: [T3] Auto and manual engines

<x-flowed windows-1255>>> I've read this before, but it's not mentioned in any of the books. My
camshaft plug was installed with the flat part facing out, driven like that
for goodness knows how many years, and emerged unscathed. Should I reverse
it when I put it back together? What's the reason for this?

I would turn it around like the factory put them in the automatics. Yes,
they cleared the drive plate, but VW didn't want to take the chance. I
put all of mine in with the flat part in, even on the 40hp. It keeps the
Permatex off your fingers while installing it.

Will do.

BTW Daniel, did you ever get my care package??

Not yet, we have a lot of holidays over here at this time of the year, that play havoc with the post. I will be away in Holland all next week. I will let you know as soon as it arrives.
