That one I showed was the original off my '64 T-34. 40K miles on it. 
The muffler itself was in pretty good shape, but sitting in the dirt for
40 year took its toll on the tailpipe and attaching point. 
As for selling for a lot more, look at these 1970's prices.

$23.10 for the muffler, and 4.85 for the damper pipe, and 4.85 for the
tail pipe wasn't too bad.
Of course back then, the shop only charged $9.00-11.00 hour labor too.
