If you're having trouble you probably need both. I sell a primer switch which requires NO alterations to the electrical system; you just wire it up to existing terminals. > Is it possible that the system slowly depressurizes because of the age > of the check valve internals in the pump? All we know is that the system leaks down. I don't really know where the leaks are. It's possible that the only leak is of air INTO the system as the system cools back down. The fuel may all be forced back into the tank, in one direction or the other as the engine heat boils and expands it after shutdown. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
