I think mine's getting that way, too.   ;-p

I've wondered if there's enough inductance in the brake light circuit that a 
freewheeling diode would help the contacts live; I doubt it. A relay (with a 
diode across the coil) to take the lamp current, might make the switches last

Looks quite nice and neat. I hadn't thought of triggering off that step in the 
pedal frame like you did. I think I'd prefer a location that didn't come so 
close to the angled foot plate, however. If you had moved it to one side or the 
other could you have taken advantage of one of the pressings in that foot

Doesn't the angled foot plate cover it?
