Set the DVM on DC volts and go looking for voltage: one probe on a ground and the other probe touching things which might have DC Volts on it. You'll find that most things don't have any voltage on them until you turn the key on, but you can always go for the battery. Hint: any metal part of the car's body is grounded, but you won't be able to make good contact with it unless it's bare or plated. Paint and rust are good insulators. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
