I recall hearing of a double grommet version, but have never seen one - I wonder
if they really exist(ed).

Konny's English isn't too bad - I asked him about the A model, but he hasn't got
an NOS one of that version for copying, and I used mine the last time I needed
one.
It might be possible to discuss the matter with one of the German club who has a
good grasp of German, so they can approach Konny.  I'm sure they must need the
part too.
