[T3] electric vs mechanical fuel pumps

I can see the upside... constant pressure, and removing the pump from the 
engine compartment. My question is what is the downside, and if one did 
decide to go with one of these, where would it best be mounted? I think I 
would always carry a mechanical pump in the trunk anyway just in case, but 
it seems like this would cure my fuel flow/vapor lock woes.
