RE: [T3] Wing Vent winndows...

Cut a soda can and wrap the aluminum around the wing window pin to shim
it. You won't even see it.

Subject: RE: [T3] Wing Vent winndows...

Just to put my 2 cents in...I love the vent windows. I don't know why VW
ever got rid of them, I always heard it had to do with security. I
figure
for my car it is probably easier to just open the door, as I rarely lock
my
vehicle.

One thing I don't like about them - regarding the sealing of them. They
are
kind of designed to fail in the sealing, right? Both windows on my bus
and
my squareback don't seal quite completely when closed. I notice a high
pitch
whistle when driving at high speeds, that disappears as soon as I crack
the
vent a little. It seems that the locking point and hinge point not being
opposite each other, causes problems.

Actually the drivers side in my sqbk has another odd problem, which I
know
of no way to fix. The top pivot hole seems to be too big, there is a lot
of
slop there. So when driving with it closed -this window rattles-as it
is
loose on the top. Anyone else have this problem, or know a solution?

Thanks,
