What grade (weight) of dino oil were you using before, Dan?

I've certainly heard that straight 30 weight runs cooler than multi-grade
(probably 10-40 or 20-50, but someone else got the figures - Bob Hoover ISTR).
Not sure why - maybe rate of flow through cooler.

I've gone back to 30 from a multigrade, and I'm pretty happy, apart from the
fact that the engine is now another 40,000 miles nearer an overhaul, and I'm
sure will need some attention soon.
