I remember reading somewhere that Armor-all supposedly pulled the moisture out of plastic/rubber-thereby giving it a shiny look, but over the long term it dries the plastic/rubber out. One suggestion I've been given over the years is to soak it in some glycerin, which you should be able to get at a pharmacy.
