The trigger points in the bottom of the distributor are supposed to fire diagonal injector pairs: #1 & #4 and #2 & #3. So if the injector connections for your left two cylinders (#3 and #4) are switched, then Yes, those two cylinders could have something in common... While the car is idiling, unplug the injector connectors and plug them back in one at a time and look for differences in how the idle changes (or doesn't). Tell us what you observe.
