The only real solution to this problem is to open up the door sometime when it is dry and thoroughly clean out all the accumulated crud from the bottom. It's normal for water to get in there. The scrapers don't really stop it; they just slow it down a bit. The real problem is the accumulation of crud (that's the technical term) that eventually clogs up the drains. And, YES, Peter's doing exactly the right thing by taking care of the plastic sheets in there. They're important, because they keep the water from getting to the hardboard backing of the interior panels. They can be pulled off and replaced many times if you are careful. I use rubber cement to reattach them if the original adhesive has lost its tackiness. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
