In that case, you probably should be thinking about doing some clutch work soon. This should not happen, and it's better to fix it sooner than later, because the longer you let this go the more parts you will damage and the more expensive the repair will get. Brad M. and I did his clutch a couple of weeks ago. The problem turned out to be a slowly leaking main seal which had let oil get into the clutch. We replaced the seal and the flywheel O-ring, which had both turned hard, and the clutch disk, which was oil soaked. Everything else was okay to reuse, so this was not too bad. If you wait too long you may be facing replacement of the flywheel and pressure plate, which will add at least $100 to the repair. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
