I was planning to seal off the 72 sedan that I work on, but there were places where the seal just wouldn't work. As you said, it's really not important on these cars, so I'm surprised to hear that it's called out in the parts list. The VW parts lists are known to have other occasional errors. Are you sure that your car actually came from the factory with this seal? Just doesn't seem to make sense.... But I guess it really can't hurt anything to put that seal there. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
