One thing I happened to think about in this pro/con session on
generators verses alternators. And this will only work on a carbed
engine.
Try and push start your car with no battery in it with an alternator.
You can't do it.
But if you can get your engine spinning at about 1000 rpm with a
generator, your engine will start.
An alternator has to have voltage to get it jump started working.
Generators don't.
