I miss spoke a few posts ago. I was trying to solve your sqeak the same way that I solved mine. You see my car has been body lifted about 4" and has these weird spacers that have a really tough shore hardness, they feel more like dence nylon then rubber or urathane. They used to sqeak like mad till I sprayed them with lithium grease. I know that it may not be the best idea to use grease on a ruber part, however if the spacer is urathane it work better, also the little rubber donuts the front clip rides on are just infront of the axle beams. I mistakingly told you above the shock towers.( I was thinking about the back, caus my car made that noise in all 4 of those spots and gease shut it right up. Sorry bout the confusion. --- Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> wrote: > On 17 Mar 2005 at 18:05, dynamico wrote: > > > What can I use to "test" these areas and find out > which one is squeaking? > > I'd like to get down there and just start > squirtin' everything with lube > > until goes away but I don't want to make a bigger > mess or work for myself > > than what is necessary. > > You could try parking it up on blocks a bit and have > someone push up and down > on the nose while you try to listen underneath.
