Re: [T3] Missing cooling tin!

<x-flowed>>> I have a really nice breather box waiting to be installed. It does not
have
a fixture to connect it to the oil filler, and my oil filler doesn't have a
nipple to connect to it. My understanding is that there is supposed to be a
rubber valve on the end of the pipe. Is it possible that the connection to
the oil filler pipe was only on FI cars?

The pipe with the rubber valve on it was last used in '67. Your '69 should have
the pipe that mates to the filler pipe. The early down pipe has a ~3mm hole in
the side of the pipe just above the bottom. The rubber valve has a bump there,
in its ID that locks into that hole. If you don't have that hole, then you have
the later pipe, which is different in other ways, too.

I went down and checked the extra breather box, and it looks to me like it is the correct type, but that the pipe has been cut short, probably so it could be used on an earlier car. It did spend some time on a 62 or 63 Type 34, I think.
