Re: [T3] Missing cooling tin!

<x-flowed>Funny that this subject should come up now.

I've known for a while that I am missing that tin on the right, but that I have it on the left.

Since I already have my engine apart, and since I managed to find one of these tin pieces a couple of days ago, today I took off the carb, manifold and top tin so I could out it in.

Here are a couple of photos of my engine's current predicament:

If anyone can spot anything else that needs doing while it's all taken apart, now might be a good time to tell me about it.

Once it's all back together, I will have a full set of engine tin for the first time, AFAIK. Every single little bit.

Yes, I noticed the two different versions. There's my 6v engine at the DDB (which is for sale ;-) and it has the longer tins compared to another late model engine there. I have the correct short tins. Funny, the "engine builder" did install the correct 'cool tin' on the lower cylinders.

On top of everything, those parts are REALLY important. Without them, most of the cooling air just bypasses the engine.

I'm guessing that since the left side is running hot I'm not getting
the proper amount of fuel for the FI (head temp sensor), right or
wrong?

Probably right, but probably not too much of a difference. Most of the change in resistance comes at the lower end of the temp range.
