Hi Folks

Well - IT RUNS!!! (movie on the SUDAMA website) Yahoo!!! but ... with
this project there is always a but. I need your help. I put a set of
dual carbs on this engine. I had rebuilt them with the appropriate
kits. But ... when the engine is running, the carbs appear to pump
lots of gas out the bypass tube that flows from the float chamber to
the throat. My original thought was that the float was not shutting
off the ball valve or that the valve was not working But, the valves
are working - I took the carbs apart and tried to blow air through
them while pushing in on the valve. I tried bending the arm to the
float so that it would shut the valve off earlier but that appeared
not to have an effect. Has anyone else experienced this and gave a
solution or explanation? Thanks

Do you have the plastic piece that goes on to the float pivot pin. That
is a common ommision.
Also, try putting the original needle valves back in. There have been a
lot of reports of the ones in the kits not being of good quality.

What Russ said. I had the same problem with my carbs after rebuilding them with new needle valves. I did the same check with the same results. I swapped the originals back in and all was good in the world.
