[T3] It wasnt my batteries fault!

Well,
Battery goes dead after a few days of sitting, wont take a charge after
that... its almost 8 years old so... its just at end of life right?

Never AssUME!!

I thought... just for the heck of it... Ill throw a digi ammeter on it... I
know the LED in the stereo draws 10ma but that should be within reason. Low
and behold 63ma are being drawn!! THAT will do it!
6 weeks ago, the CD section in my stereo died, Since I payed a premium
for a CD AND Cassette stereo (rare combo) its only natural that the CD
section would die rather quickly and the warrantee would have left me
without tunes for weeks (and with the noisy tranny, that was no good). So I
figured over the winter Id fix it... what I didnt realize is that it was
sitting there drawing 63ma from my poor old battery for 6 weeks.
I think my old battery is done and rolled over though, it wont take a
charge. But hadnt I checked... the new battery probably would have tolerated
the discharge until winter where it would have died and frozen.
Modern technology sometimes has a way of biting me on the hindside....
