You can support the engine from below and then remove the pulley & housing together, then split the fan housing, remove the fan and housing, and then the rear mount crossbar. There's a chance that you can just weld the crossbar back together, but I'm very surprised that it broke. It makes me wonder why it broke; perhaps someone modified it rather foolishly. I modify them to clear full flow oil filter connections, but I'm careful to leave large radii in the cutouts so there is not a bad stress riser there. I have good used crossbars here if you think replacement might be a simpler option. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
