It looks like I've doubly misled you. Sorry. The 30-019 VR is not the right one 
for your car, unless you've switched to 12V.

Plus, I'd guess that your brushes were the immediate problem, and you've now 
fixed that.

If you've now got one of those new Bosch solid state VRs, and can't use it, 
I'll be glad to buy it from you, since I've not yet seen one of them up close.
