[T3] paint ding at the shop and brakes

not sure what i should do here and looking for some advice.

i took Stanley to a local guy to have some brake work done. the pedal
was pulsating, so he turned the drums (front are discs and were turned
also, but they aren't the problem), but the problem has not gone
completely away. he said that because they are brazilian and are
getting thin, the brake pad only has partial contact and this is
causing the bad pulsation and "lunging" when stopping. is this
likely?

also, perhaps more troubling, i noticed a ding of ab out 1" by 1/2" on
the bottom edge of my door after i got it back from the shop. what do
you do when you notice a ding in you paint after having your car at
the shop? it's just my word against their's, right? they'll just say
it was there before i took it in. it looks exactly like the kind a
car would get if it was on a lift and the door opened into a post or
something metal and heavy.

not exactly lifting my spirits was the fact that there was an empty
coke can in the pass footwell and oily footprints on the driver's side
footwell. any suggestions? i'd hate to sour my relationship with
this shop, but i feel like i got subpar service.
