I had heard somewhere that the core of the T3 tranny was in use up to the Mk2 Golf/Jetta, and that the TC was interchangeable up to the same Golf/Jetta. I could very well be wrong. I often am :) If that's all true, it speaks to the longevity of the design of the Auto. 25+ years!
