I thought that the offset was just what was required to put the center of the 
tire contact patch in line with the ball joint axis. That is what you would 
want to prevent braking forces from being able to provide torque to the 
steering. If that's the case, then I'd think that even for a narrower wheel, 
you would want the same offset.

OTOH, I agree that 6mm doesn't amount to much.

I'm gonna have to look at some of my wheels. I know of about 4 different 
variations of 4-bolt type 3 wheels, but I had never noticed that some had 
longer welds. Other than the safety hump, they don't mention any of the 
differences that I'm aware of. Most of my variations were probably sold under 
the same part #, however.

I think their changeover date for the safety hump is a year or 2 late. The date 
they give is well into the '68 model year. I thought this occurred in '66.
