Another "not in the manual" question.

I get a huge amount of water leaking from these funnel

yeah, you need to get this draining well to avoid leaks. various ways of cleaning out the holes through the firewall have been discussed, and are probably in the archives:

Is there supposed to be a fresh air box on this car?

no. If the '69 is the same setup as my '67, I believe the fresh air box appeared in '70 with the change in body style. [ I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. ]

What do those two knobs do (or are supposed to do)?

If they're like my '67's levers, they control flaps on the back fresh air "scoops" that divert the air to the defrost vents, and/or down to your feet.

Anyone have a pointer to a diagram or photo showing
how everything up there is attached? I can't quite
seem to crane my neck around properly, and can't find
any fasteners with my fingers.

the early bentley. [ the big expensive one. ] has some shots of these things fresh air scoops out of the car, but not how it's all supposed to be situated and routed in the car [ my problem is I can't seem to put the scoops in place, and actually have them fit. ]

So, I too could use a good diagram.
