Re: [T3] Theoretical autotranny question

<x-flowed windows-1255>Thanks,

I had been wondering about this, and then when I used a timing light to really accurately (hopefully) time my engine recently, I was under the impression that it was shifting better.

Then the fan started making a racket and I had to take the car off the road for a while.

Here's a question I've been wondering about for some time: is it possible
for bad engine tuning - carb adjustment, timing etc - to affect the
performance of the auto tranny, especially shift points?

It is possible. The tranny shifts according to road speed, and manifold
vacuum. If the timing is different, the the manifold vacuum could be
different at the same engine load.
