Re: Wasser engine

<x-flowed>MarcW=> anybody seen a Porsche 911 motor in a Squareback?

My mechanic built one into a Notch a few years ago. One complicating factor is that the transaxle position relative to the body and suspension is a bit different between the Porsche platform and the Type 3, but even without that I have a hard time imagining squeezing that motor down flat without some major custom reengineering of the cooling system and probably the fuel system as well. In any case I kinda don't think you'd want to do that swap with the goal of hauling groceries and a couple kids, so maybe you could consider putting in a firewall and turning the cargo area into an engine bay with windows.
