[T3] Oil breather work on the yellow car.
<x-flowed>Pictures: http://www.icbm.org/erkson/gallery/late_model_oil_breather
Decided to fix the oil leaking about the oil breather mount and ended up
doing a complete job on it :-) My bad: Put the breather in a can of
carb/part cleaner and it took the paint off! But that sucker is clean!!
Also, I finally did a valve adjustment and every single valve was tight
:-( I had to once again reset the idle -- it had dropped to 500-600rpm
-- and adjusted timing by ear. I'll hit The DDB shop to use the timing
light to reset the timing proper style :-) Then the whole ignition
system should be complete.
Got my girlfriend to drive to and from the store, acquainting her with
the car. Bella (baby girl) snoozed the whole way in her baby seat in
the back. Old VW sedans were never meant to have a baby seat in
them...at least in a comfortable position for the person in front of it :-(
You guys with FI troubles, make sure your ignition system is working properly, it can cause performance, idle, mileage and acceleration issues.
