I was able to separate the two small HEs today and now I can clean 
the whole thing up and get ready to put it back together and on the 
engine. I checked with the old time group around here regarding the 
washer that goes between the HE and the muffler but there are none 
available. I read your comments about the soft copper tubing but I am 
afraid I do not know what it is nor can I visualize the scarf joint 
that you referred to. I know how to make one in wood but not this 
soft metal tubing. Can you help me with a little more detail? Thanks.
