You might just try your local VW dealer. They used that same piece in
the Rabbit, and newer cars. They might still be using it for all I know.
I will look this weekend, and see if I can find the shifter I took out
of my parts car, and get pictures of it for you so you can see how it
comes apart. You have to take the shifter off its pivot to get that part
of the switch out.
