I haven't either, although I HAVE seen an engine that were damaged when one of the old style nuts came loose and allowed the case to warp. Berg points out that these studs carry the entire power stroke force of the pistons, so that he was looking into tightening these even more than spec for HP engines, and doesn't recommend the sealing nuts. I generally use flat washers, late nuts turned backwards with the seal material removed, and loctite. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
