I could perhaps get a small piece of steel tubing and repair this way- I just would need to make a strong enough crimp so that it doesn't slide out. I thought getting a small metal rod (I could actually even use a nail with the head and point cut off), bend it to a similar arc, and clamp this on either side of the break using 4 collar stays, 2 on either side of the break. The tubing idea is intriguing. I might explore that one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
