On the early HEs the valve was actually not part of the HE. The 
valves were on the mixer boxes mounted to either side of the tranny 
nose. Is that what you guys are talking about? I had always assumed 
that the early mixer boxes had the relief valve on top of them, but 
I've never worked on any of those.
