That nut is difficult to tighten -- it loosened up on me a few years back during a routine oil change. I don't remember all of the details on how I tightened it, but I know I used a very small 10-mm(?) open-end wrench. This wrench was very short and slim and seemed to just barely catch that nut. The wrench came in a little set I bought at Sears a long time ago. I backed that stud out a tad to accommodate the new 1.5 qt deep sump I installed, and am now totally paranoid that the bolt on top is loose, so I'm dying to take a wrench to it... but how?! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
