I believe that's actually a photo of the type 1 auto stick shift drive plate. Note that there appear to be 4 wing nuts securing it, instead of 3. > (Why is it called a gland nut when it's really a big bolt?) I had always assumed that this was just due to some US kiddy misnaming the part, but a glance at the VW microfilm shows that this is actually what they call it, too, at least in the US version of the microfilm. > Also, I took the car for a drive yesterday, just around town.
