It did seem to reduce the problem of carb ice in my 59 Beetle - kept the condensed water from freezing in the idle port. No warm air intake on the old 30hp engine. Type 3s have carb heat all the time so don't get that problem. I fitted a little electric blanket to the camper carb throat to help. Dave.
