You may never have noticed that the they are actually 2 pieces. The rims are
cast iron, but the face, or disk, is a pressed steel plate. The rim is cast
onto the disk. There are 1 piece solid cast drums from Brazil, but I'd avoid
them, because these have a thicker face, which makes the lug bolts too short.
