You know, I tried something similar to this. I basically had both wheels off, and the drums screws off as well, then I started up the car and went to third and slammed on the brakes at speed... A few times, but no luck. I never considered using the emergency brake to keep the drum from moving but force the center hub move, makes so much sense. I will try that next weekend. Why do you suggest doing one and then the other instead of both at the same time? Thanks for your help. > No, that won't work, as you will still be trying to remove the center > hub. > With all the bolts out of one wheel, and the car supported on stands > properly, Set the emergency brake, start the engine and put it in first > gear. Let the clutch out slowly, and the engine will break it loose. Now > put a couple bolts back in that wheel, and do the same on the other > side. You now have both drums loose. -- Petri 71 Notch 02 Subaru Liberty RX (family wagon) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
