Actually, there are many differences with the 2L... I cant remember them right now but its not just a matter of upgrading a 1.7 or 1.8 to a 2L, which is why I got the GA engines togeather to do my conversion. The 1.8 motor is in a league of its own, different than the other two but again, I cant remember exactly why other than the parts are much more $$ as they only fit that engine. I think I got most of my info from the forum that Shad laws hosts.. others can chime in with the link if they have it. The GA engines have the big valves, 105HP stock and are still relatively easy to get. If the heads are good they are cheaper to rebuild than the 1.8 Keith > According to type4.org the 411 1.8 got up to 85hp.
