Hello All, I had a chance to remove the Fuel Pressure Regulator for the Heater and disassemble it. After disassembly the hardened diaphragms were definitely confirmed. I am really interested in the idea of replacing the hardened material, but I don't think it is as easy as it sounds. The diaphragms seem to have a molded shape to them to allow for motion, I don't know how I could duplicate that. The metal centers on the diaphragms are also confirmed. I think with a little work, I could probably remove the metal centers and transfer to new material, but one of the centers has an orange neoprene seat that seem to have a wear mark pressed into it, I don't think it would seal properly, but I could be wrong. Russ, I know you said you have done this work before, I was wondering if the fuel pressure regulator was the same? Anyone's comments would be greatly appreciated. Should I try to find a repair kit (probably non existent)? Do you think the diaphragm material would have enough flex to allow for the axial movement? I have attached a link to the disassembled Fuel Pressure Regulator (pictures explain it all) Web Page http://home.ix.netcom.com/~sjannick/type3vwpage4.html High Res Photos http://home.ix.netcom.com/~sjannick/71%20Notch%20Heater%20Photos/ As Always Thanks for everyone's input.
