My understanding, (based on the list, and a conversation with the grandaughter of the original owner of my Notch), as late in '65 as April 1, Notches, at least were "converted" to US specs. Mine had sealed beam headlights and other US spec items installed. And in addition the speedomoter has been replaced at some point in the car's life, (date stamped ?/62). There is no documentation saying if this was part of the coversion or not. This car was part of the European delivery program. > I know my '62 Beetle had at least the > upper outboard point, with a > large plastic plug in it. The outboard mounts were in the floor pan, and were covered with a plug if belts weren't installed.
