Ive felt my trannie.... and always wondered why it was SO HOT when normal driving... of course I later came to realize why. On the trip to Parma... I think my trannie ran hottest when the outside temp was hottest crossing Nebraska, flat and straight. It got noticably louder after that day. I didnt feel it after driving through the mountains but I can say it didnt get any louder after that. It got noticably louder after another hot run earlier this year.... So I dont *think* it got really hot in the mountians. The trannys should have been REALLY hot. > > I'll ask my drivetrain friend here, too. > > -- > Jim Adney > jadney@vwtype3.org > Madison, WI 53711-3054 > USA > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > >
