Hmmm.. I could have sworn that Everett had mentioned that the requirement for 96 octane wasn't correct any more. I think this was because the octane ratings have changed since '64/'65 and that today's current 91/93 octane gas was more than enough for the 1500S pistons.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on this one but I could have sworn that there was a discussion similar to this on the list a few months back when I got my 1500S pistons at the classic. How can I tell what brand they are?
