IIRC, my only tire options in '68 were blackwalls or whitewalls, but it's possible that I didn't appreciate the advantages of radials at that time and just ignored that option. I just went with bias ply whitewalls. Mine came with Fulda tires. Every seen one of them? Somewhat later, however, I'm quite sure that radial tires were a FACTORY option. At least by '71, the tire inflation sticker on the glove box door included radial tire pressures. I'm quite sure that you could get your '71 with radials from the factory. This was for the US market; other markets could well be different. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
