Your right about one thing... you CANT run synth in the engine without a filter, it destroyed my engine rather quickly! So... being biased somewhat against the stuff... I would be hesitant to run it elsewhere... what would worry me in a Tranny is how the old worn Synchros would handle the slicker and less viscious oil? I know BMW came out with a definate NO at one time to it... but others have found advantages to it. Basically... if it aint broke, dont fix it! and it aint broke...
