Don't discard the old vac can. If it holds vacuum it is still good and they are getting rarer all the time. If you look at the inner end of the vac can arm, you will see 3 digits stamped on it. If you can tell me those digits I may be able to figure out what it is and how much vacuum advance it should give you. The OE part would be labeled 265 and gives 10 degrees of vac advance. David and (many) others: Please edit out unnecessary quoted material from your posts to the list. It may seem like a small thing, but it amounts to something when you realize that it's all archived as well as repeated to ~400 list members world wide. Thanks for your consideration. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
