I just took off the rocker arm assembly and pulled the pushrod. It is not perfectly straight but otherwise it appears to be in good shape. There is about 1 mm of difference in the center when I roll the rod across a flat surface. The valve itself looks fine and the visible part of the spring looks fine as well. I out of my realm of experience here, is the pushrod too bent? Am I facing a 'stuck' valve? If so how do I progress from here? I've heard of these being freed up by primitive means but I can't remember the details. I wonder... Twice in the last month my engine suddenly got 'clattery' and when I stopped the clattering went away. It sounded like valve noise and the engine continued to feel normal in the way it ran. Both times it lasted about 30 seconds. Although I knew better I chose to just be glad that the problem went away. I suppose that this relates to the clatter??
