[T3] Reinstalling the fuel injection?

I'm fiddling with the idea of reinstalling the fuel injection on our '68
Fastback. When we got the car, it had dual PICT 32s on it, and the
injections stuff all came in a box. While we've been working on the car
(its currently in the bodyshop) I've been collecting parts for the engine.
I have a complete set up to install dual DRLA 36s. However, the way were
doing the bodywork, its more of a restoration than a hot rod. We're keeping
all the chrome, the rear reflectors; everything. By the time we're done,
the only real modifications will be the lowered front end, the aftermarket
wheels, and anything we do to the engine. The motor still has its heater
boxes on it, though the muffler was toast and I replaced it with a header.
If I'm hotrodding the motor (it already has an aftermarket cam in it) I was
going to go with J-pipes and one of ISP West's new over the top exhaust set
ups. I have a friend with a BN-2 gas heater that he'll sell me cheap. That
should take care of foggy windows on those occasional cold Summer mornings.

Of all the fuel injection parts I have, I'm missing the F.I. distributor,
the injectors, and the fuel pump. When I had the gas tanks cleaned and
sealed, I had them cut off and weld up the return line inlet. I also don't
know what condition the parts I do have are in. I"m finding most of this
stuff from time to time on The Samba and eBay Motors, so it is available.

Long story short, since I've never had the car run on the F.I, is it really
worth effort to reinstall it? Or am I opening a pandora's box of problems?

Jim
