Believe it or not...

Advantages of oil bath air cleaner: will hold more dirt without clogging up, 
cleans the air better, less airflow restriction.

Advantages of paper filter elements: less messy to change

Advantage of foam filter elements: none that I can think of

In addition, only the OE filter assembly can suck in cool air from the intake 
plenum, thus giving slightly more engine power.
